Welfare

CLAC has a longstanding reputation for outstanding levels of welfare care for its students.

We, CLAC Management, take very seriously our responsibility to look after all the students in our care and to protect them from harm. As a family business we understand the value of parents knowing their children will be looked after as only a family knows how.

CLAC staff are carefully selected and must carry a DBS or Police Certificate to verify their safety to work with children. Together with the Centre Manager and Director all staff live on site during the course. CLAC is proud to boast a 1:4 ratio of staff to students.

A dedicated CLAC Housemother personally looks after each student and is available 24 hours a day for children to go to if they feel unwell, need help or just someone to talk to.
CLAC will keep personal items such as student passports, travel tickets and pocket money safe in the Course Office, which is open all day and all evening to help students.
Mobile phones and any other electronic devices are also stored in the CLAC Office and can be accessed at allocated times. Parents can always contact the CLAC Office in an emergency and talk with their children throughout the day at set times, when they are not in lessons or activities. We politely request students to turn off their mobile phones during mealtimes to be sociable and make conversation with their friends.

All parents are required to complete a Personal Information Form regarding the personal and contact details of their child and disclosing any medical conditions. This information is confidential to CLAC Management and stored according to Data protection laws, but is vital in order to be able to offer the necessary in loco parentis care a child away from home needs.
