Social Programme at CLAC

The exciting range of sports and recreational facilities at Old Buckenham Hall are available exclusively to CLAC during the course. The extensive top-class campus caters for a wide variety of interests from sports and games to drama, art, cookery and many more. In their free time students may simply sit or walk in the beautiful grounds chatting with friends and breathing in the fresh air. There is something for everyone and students have the independence to choose from the different activities that CLAC’s dedicated Social Team put on offer each afternoon after classes and at weekends.

OBH (as Old Buckenham Hall is affectionately called) has wonderful spacious playing fields, a 9-hole golf course, large indoor sports hall, outdoor heated swimming pool, drama hall with stage and Art and Craft Studio . There is something for everyone ….

Sports: Golf, Swimming, Football, Volleyball, Basketball, Dodgeball, Tennis, Badminton, Cricket, Rounders, Yoga, Fitness, Circuit Training, Woodland Challenge

Art and Crafts: Painting, Sketching, Jewellery Making, Friendship Bracelets, Face Painting, Stage Props Design, Costume Making, Card Making, Glass Painting etc.

Activities: Drama, Singing, Dance, Cookery, Debating, Chess, Board Games, Nature Walks, Pamper Time,

Local Visits: Bowling, Trampolining, Cinema, Town Trail, Project Work

Evening Entertainment: Team Games and Competitions, Theme parties, Casino Evening, Live Cluedo, Mystery Walk, Karaoke, Talent Show, Camp Fire, Discos, Quizzes, Movie Nights etc.

Full Day Excursion

Once a week there is a full day excursion. Typically, students visit London and Cambridge. This full day outing allows students to experience some of the magic of these two iconic cities in the UK. Students can choose between sightseeing activities and visits to a museum or place of interest. And of course, there is always some time for shopping too! Some options may have a charge but there will always be a free activity to choose.

All activities are carefully programmed and supervised by CLAC’s own Social Activity Team. Their aim is to give our students the time of their lives, a time to remember forever. The Team never forget the importance of their entertainment programme – that the more engaging and fun the indoor and outdoor activities, the more the students will participate and try new things, discover new skills, celebrate new achievements and become more confident. And just as importantly, a well-planned Social Programme encourages a huge amount of social interaction and communication, so that our students go home more confident than they ever realise, and having made lifelong friends.
