Founding DirectorAnne George helped found CLAC in 1985 and each summer directs the Senior Course. She has been a qualified English language teacher for over 40 years and is passionate about making the language learning at CLAC the best it can be. Having spent over 30 years directing CLAC courses she also has invaluable experience in all aspects of children’s welfare, including what makes the courses fun and exciting. Anne George’s dedication to creating a family atmosphere has set CLAC apart by providing unique and caring summer courses that parents can trust.
William H George BA, MBA, Cert TEFL
DirectorWilliam has been part of CLAC since he was 6 years old! His long experience has enabled him to fill every role from Course Assistant to Director. William has a degree in English Language and Linguistics, a Masters in Business Administration, is qualified to teach English and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing. During the year he leads the management team in Cambridge and in the summer directs the Junior Course. William is committed to continuing the strong family values and uphold the quality reputation of CLAC. History now repeats itself as his own children now attend CLAC each summer!
Oggi Tomic BA Hons
Enrolments ManagerOggi first came to CLAC as a student in the year 2000 and became one of our greatest success stories when in 2006 he was accepted at the University of Wales to do a degree in Documentary Film and TV. Since graduating he has worked as part of the management team at the office in Cambridge where his main responsibility is as the Enrolment Manager. He is the first point of contact for enquires, and is perfectly suited to the role with his aptitude for languages and tireless dedication to the job. Oggi is also a familiar face at the Senior course during the summer, where his enthusiasm and love of CLAC sees him fill many roles from meeting students at the airport to running the Film Academy.
Hazel Pelling BA (Hons), Cert TEFL
General ManagerHazel has worked for CLAC since 2009, when she began as a teacher, progressed to Centre Manager and then to working full time in the management team at the Cambridge office. She has experience teaching children from all over the world and is ideally suited to planning every aspect of the summer courses from marketing to recruitment. During the summer Hazel is the Centre Manager of the Junior Course and the designated Safeguarding Leader, ensuring that the children receive the best in pastoral care. Hazel loves most seeing the rapid progress of students’ English, independence and self-confidence and the truth in the CLAC saying ‘CLAC friends are friends forever’.
Matt Davies BA (Hons), Dip TEFL
Director of Studies and DOSMatt has been an English teacher and Director of Studies at CLAC since 2006. He has a wealth of experience teaching English to all ages and abilities in a number of different countries, including France, Spain, the UK, Switzerland, Italy and Portugal (where he is currently based) He is also a Cambridge examiner for KET, PET and FCE exams. Matt is a very active member of the CLAC team, with hobbies ranging from surfing and trail running to climbing and yoga. He sets a great example to CLAC students who eagerly try to compete with him during sports and activities.
Matt Trinder BA (Hons), Dip TEFL
Centre ManagerMatt read History at University and after qualifying as a teacher he joined CLAC in the summer of 2010. He has much valued experience teaching both children and adults at International House in Madrid, and as a Language Support Tutor at the University of Birmingham. He is currently studying for an MA in Contemporary History at the University of Sussex and during the summer he takes on the role as the Centre Manager of the CLAC senior course. His 7 previous years working on this course as a teacher and Director of Studies give him invaluable experience to take charge of all aspects of the staff team and students’ needs in a responsible yet friendly and amiable manner.
