It is with immense sadness that we announce the sudden and untimely death of Elfrida Heath, the Founder of CLAC (Cambridge Language and Activity Courses).
Elfrida was 79 and lived in Cambridge. It was Elfrida’s vision in 1985 to have a truly international summer school, where British children would mix with children from as many other countries as possible to enhance English speaking and cultural understanding.
To this day, 34 years on, British children still attend the courses each summer and over 50 nationalities have attended CLAC. Elfrida directed the Junior Course for 8 – 12 year olds until her retirement in 2007. She had an endearing personality, warm, witty and fun, making her much loved by her staff and students alike.
