Learn English in the UK
The CLAC English learning programme aims to give students maximum benefit during their stay by linking what is studied in the classroom with the language that they will need in all other aspects of their course. In this way students immediately get to practise what they have learnt, which builds both fluency and confidence, which in turn builds more friendships!
A typical day begins with a 90-minute intensive English language lesson that has been carefully designed to teach grammar and vocabulary.
In the second part of the morning students have two shorter 45-minute intensive English skills lessons. Teachers focus specifically on areas such as pronunciation, speaking, listening, reading and writing. Language games and role plays encourage involvement and motivation. For further writing practice, students are encouraged to keep a diary throughout their course. Prizes are awarded for the best diary!
Specialist Workshops are one hour classes held on three afternoons each week focussing on interest-based topics which vary each week and are chosen by each student according to their own interest. These classes aim to reinforce English through engagement and enjoyment.
Main benefits of learning English at CLAC:
''CLAC has been a turning point in my life...I will become a doctor next week. I didn’t know it at the time, it seems CLAC made it possible.'' - Arianna, Italy
We have decades of experience and understand that all students learn at a different pace.
CLAC classes are arranged by ability to make sure that students of a similar level of English
are placed together.
Our classes follow the CLAC syllabus and our teachers make classes fun
and challenging. Students say that they finish their course feeling more confident
All English teachers at CLAC are qualified professionals. Many of our teachers have been working at CLAC for years and know how to create classes which are structured, engaging and fun. Our teachers are carefully chosen for two specific qualities, aptitude and attitude. This means that we only employ enthusiastic, caring personalities, who we trust to deliver successful lessons.
All teachers are residential on the courses and get involved in every aspect of the course programme from wake-up to bedtime. They can also be found taking part in some of the social activities after class, which our students especially love. This friendly approach combined with their professional teaching methods puts students at ease and aids learning.
Students have one main class teacher who will monitor their progress and write their end of course report. Some skills lessons are taught by another CLAC teacher so that students are exposed to different teaching styles, personalities and even accents!
We sent our daughter this year as well as last year hoping that attractive experiences of CLAC would be the confidence and assets of her. She is now full of satisfaction having so many friends all over the world!!. – Junko Okura, Japan
