English Language Learning

At CLAC we believe that language learning should be fun, so CLAC courses combine traditional language lessons with interest based classes (Specialist Workshops) and a varied social programme after classes with a wide range of sports, activities, excursions and special events unique to CLAC.

The main benefits of a CLAC intensive English course are:

• Small classes (maximum 14 students per class)
• 18 hours of language lessons per week
• Language level testing for correct group placement
• Emphasis on communication and speaking
• Learning in a multicultural environment, allowing natural language exchange
• Constant exposure to English through carefully planned classes and social activities
• Staff specially chosen for their qualifications and personality
• Ratio of staff to students 1:4

Specialist Workshops

Specialist Workshops are classes taught by professionals three times per week from 2pm to 3pm. Their purpose is to increase motivation of students by enabling them to practise their English through specific interests that they enjoy. Students can choose from a variety of subjects, some with professional coaching that carry an extra charge.

All students must select ONE option per week via the booking form. Options are:

• CLAC Classics (£0)
• Tennis Coaching (£60)
• Football Coaching (£60)
• Film Academy (£60)
• Health and Fitness (£60)
• Career Preparation (£60)

If you need further information about the Specialist Workshops please contact us on 0044 1223846348.

Social Programme

Each afternoon and evening after classes and all day on Sundays the CLAC Social Team on each course offers a range of interesting activities from varied sports and hobbies to special events. The aim is to provide a varied programme to suit each age range and different tastes so that whatever a student’s interests there will always be something to do. All on-site social activities are included in the fees. For some off-site activities and excursions there is an extra charge but whenever there is a fee paying activity there will always be a non-fee paying alternative.

One day per week there is a full day supervised excursion to such places as London, Brighton, Portsmouth or a well-known attraction. Transport by coach or mini bus is included and highly organised supervision is always by CLAC staff. In the mornings students have the opportunity to visit a museum or local place of interest and in the afternoons supervised shopping. For London we offer some exciting paying options as well as non-paying ones (see Booking Form)
