The safety of students and peace of mind of parents are CLAC’s top priority on arrival and departure days. For children travelling from overseas, CLAC provides a personal care service at HEATHROW, GATWICK and SOUTHAMPTON airports.
All course arrival and departure days are on a Sunday. Lessons begin on Monday morning. Make sure you have given your TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS to the CLAC Office well in advance – firstname.lastname@example.org
HEATHROW, GATWICK AND SOUTHAMPTON AIRPORTS
CLAC offers a transfer service between these airports and the school on scheduled arrival and departure days.
ARRIVAL: CLAC staff will be at Heathrow, Gatwick and Southampton airports to meet students between 9am and 6pm on course start dates. Please book your child’s flight to arrive between these times.
CLAC staff will be wearing a CLAC T-Shirt and will be carrying a crocodile flag.
Children under 14 are normally required to be registered as ‘Unaccompanied Minors’ (please check with the airline). The name of the person meeting children should be given as William George, Director. Office contact: +44 (0)1223 846348
All CLAC staff will carry a Letter of Authorisation signed by William George and will be carrying personal identification for security.
In the unlikely event of a problem with our meeting service, students should go to the information desk and ask for CLAC staff to be called. The CLAC airport coordinator is Oggi Tomic. Mobile contact: +44 (0)7590 565388
Students must NEVER leave the airport alone or with anyone other than CLAC staff.
DEPARTURE: It is necessary to allow 2 hours for the journey to Heathrow, Gatwick and Southampton airports and 2 hours for check-in before any scheduled departure time.
For this reason we ask parents not to book a return flight which leaves before 11am or later than 6pm. Charges may have to be made for transfers outside these times. Please be aware that early flights will mean a VERY early start for your child.
If a student requires an airport transfer outside the included service, CLAC can arrange this for an additional charge – as set out below:
|AIRPORT||SCHEDULED ARRIVALS & DEPARTURES||UNSCHEDULED ARRIVALS & DEPARTURES|
|Heathrow||Included||£160 (one way)|
|Gatwick||Included||£130 (one way)|
|Southampton||Included||£120 (one way)|
*Any alternative transfer arrangements will be charged individually. We regret that we cannot organise transfers to or from Stansted and Luton airports as they are too far from the schools.
INDEPENDENT ARRIVALS AND DEPARTURES
Students being brought to the school by parents may arrive at any time after 2pm and before 6pm on the first Sunday of their course and must be collected before 12pm on the final Sunday. Please inform the CLAC office of arrival and pick up times.
CLAC students must be 16 years or over to use this service alone and must have their parents’ permission. They will need to make their own way to Gatwick airport by underground to meet up with our transfer service, or take the train from London Victoria to Barnham station for pick up to Slindon College. We do not recommend this method of transport for CLAC students.
There are direct train services from London Victoria the schools. The nearest train station to both schools is BARNHAM. CLAC students must be 16 or over to use this service alone and with parents permission.
We will be happy to offer CLAC students a complimentary transfer service between BARNHAM train station and the schools providing we have been informed of the travel arrangements well in advance and they are within our meeting regulations.
