CLAC is unique in offering French, Spanish and German language classes as well as English for international students. British students can study a language alongside French, Spanish and German students, thereby having the opportunity to practise with native speakers. During sports and activities, as well as in the shared bedrooms, students can practise what they have learnt in class in a natural, friendly environment.
The courses include 20 hours of language tuition per week as well as a full social and activity programme which keeps everyone entertained until bedtime. The classes, which are small and friendly with a maximum of 10 students, are taught by native teachers. Through close personal attention the teacher is able to understand individual students’ learning needs and students are able participate in group practice.
Whether students are beginners, improvers or need to practise for a forthcoming exam, a CLAC course provides formal and informal language practice as well as building confidence. At least half the students who attend return again another year and the friendships they make with students from around the world are long-lasting.
