Cambridge Language and Activity Courses, more known affectionately as ‘CLAC’, is a family-run organisation proud of its unique and highly successful summer courses where an average of 60% of its students return each year.
Founded in 1985 by Elfrida Heath, CLAC has been administered throughout by Anne George, who also directs the Senior Courses at Slindon College. Anne is now joined by her son, William, and daughter-in-law, Carolina, to help run the friendly, efficient CLAC office based in Cambridge.
CLAC specialises in fully residential courses with a homely, family atmosphere and an emphasis on personal care and safety. The Directors and staff all live in the schools during the courses to give 24 hour supervision and a minimum ratio of staff to pupils of 1:5.

All the staff are selected for their friendly personalities and individual skills in language teaching, sports, art, drama and other special interest subjects.
CLAC offers ENGLISH for overseas students and FRENCH, GERMAN or SPANISH tuition for British students, thus bringing together foreign and British children on the same courses to create natural exchange of language and a fun, international learning and play environment.
There are on average 80 teenagers on the 13- 17 year old course at Slindon College and 50 children on the 8-13 year old course at Lavant House, both schools near Chichester, West Sussex.
